Pills need to be taken daily, in order to be effective.
The patch is worn on the lower part of the body. It releases hormones in the body, preventing pregnancy.

You would need a new patch every three weeks. Injections stop the ovaries from releasing the egg and need to be taken every three months.
Vaginal worn as the name suggests is worn in the vagina and releases progestin and estrogen hormones that prevents pregnancy.

You can wear the ring for a period of three weeks. Implantable rods and IUD can be inserted by the doctor and are effective as long as five years. They work by releasing hormones thus preventing ovulation.
