Support Hose and Compression Stockings for Varicose Veins and Spider Veins
Varicose veins and spider veins are the veins that have become gnarled, enlarged or tortuous. Generally the term “varicose and spider veins” refers to ailment in veins of legs, although it is possible that varicose veins can occur in any body part. The term varicose originate from a Latin root ‘”varix” meaning twisted or tangled. It is imperative to know that legs are the most vulnerable part of body to develop varicose or spider veins. This is due to number of factors like gravity, pressure exerted by body weight, and the primary function of leg muscles i.e. “to carry blood from the lower parts of the body towards the heart”.
Now coming to the gargantuan question, what is root cause of spider veins? The answer lies in a complex phenomenon. The human heart is responsible for pumping blood along with various nutrients and oxygen to the all the parts of the body via arteries. In addition to this, veins do the reverse job of carrying oxygen- deficient blood from the various parts of body towards the heart. The veins features special kind of valves that work like as single-way passage, preventing the blood from pushing in backward direction as it flows in upward direction due to contraction of leg muscles. If these valves get too weak, then they are not able to hold back blood and get collected in veins thereby enlarging the veins and thus results into what is called as spider veins.
It is evident that these two complex problems can be treated by improving the strength of valves. The easiest way to do so is by using compression stockings and support hoses. Unlike all the drugs and medicine which have lot of side effects. Basically the compression stocking improved circulation of blood through legs and prevent back flow of blood which is real cause of aching, swallowing and serious problems.
