In the last few decades, there have been two trends which have continued to increase. The first is the number of people who are learning to play the game of golf. The second trend is the increased awareness of the dangers of skin cancer. As a result of these two trends, this article is going to focus on three ways to minimize the possibility of receiving too much sunlight while playing golf outside.
The first and easiest way is to wear a hat. While many people feel that hats or sun visors are not fashionable on a golf course, these items can not only shield the top of your head, but they can also provide protection for your face and eyes. Whether you realize it or not, direct sunlight can create havoc on your eyesight.
Next, you should always use sun lotion whenever you play golf (you should actually use it whenever you have to be outside for prolonged periods of time). Personally, we recommend you find and use the sun block with the highest Sun Protection Factor (SPF). Additionally, we personally recommend a lotion versus a spray on application of sunscreen, as we feel that the lotion is a better sun blocker.
Lastly, you can use a golf umbrella to help protect your skin. These nifty golfing accessories can be attached to your golf cart to provide an additional level of protection against the sun. As a side note, if you are interested in protecting the golf cart from sunlight, we highly recommend you use a golf cart cover to keep the sunlight from fading the golf cart’s paint job and seats.
As we have shown, it is extremely important to take the proper precautions to limit the amount of sun damage we absorb while we are playing golf. These three easy steps can go a long way towards reducing the amount of dangerous sun light we receive.
